Winter Woods Walk-#6 : Why You Keep Finding Rubs in the Same Places

Structure Never Changes

Trees fall. Leaves grow. Deer stay the same. Winter rubs show you what mattered before the pressure and after the season ended. Follow my “Read The Rub” series and I'll do my best to help you decipher buck rubs…😝

Follow the Line, Not the Tree

One rub means nothing. A line of them means intention. Winter lets you see how bucks move through terrain, not just where they stopped. I once followed a rub line right to a Burger King…🤔

Lock It In

Mark those lines now. They’ll matter again.

FinalThoughts :

Funny how the woods explains itself when you finally slow down. Be observant and take note of tree size and height of rub on the tree. Bigger bucks tend to rub larger trees and higher up if their rack is big🤔 Enjoy your time in the woods fellow DIY'ers and I'd enjoy your comments below.
